Odisha gained three points by taking a first-innings lead of 304 runs against Goa in their four-day Col C K Nayudu Trophy U-23 Plate Group-A match, which ended in draw at Gandhi Stadium in Balangir today.
Three players put up imprssive performance for Odisha in the match aganst Goa, scoring a century each. They were captain Shantanu Mishra, Devendra Kunwar and Pratik Das. Kunwar was unlucky to miss a double century by a whisker. He slammed 199 with the help of 23 boundaries and five sixes. Mishra hit 160, Das made 100.
Electing to bat, Odisha went on a rampage, declaring their first innings at 561 for eight. In reply, Goa folded up for 257 to concede a lead of 304 runs. Following on the visitors were 239 for four at the close of play on the final day. The escaped defeat thanks to a half-century each by opener Infancio and middle-order batsman Srinivas Fadte.
With this match, Odisha completed their Plate Group-A engagements and finished fifth with five points from as many matches. They drew three games and lost the remaining three. Uttar Pradesh emerged toppers in this group with 26 points.
